san blas

San Blas is often renowned as the most popular birdwatching destination in all of Mexico. I offers a special package tour of La Tovara park, an extensive mangrove forest and federally protected nature preserve accessible by small boats.

La Tovara is a spring located in the municipality of San Blas in the state of Nayarit, which gives rise to a natural fresh water pond in the middle of a stream at the base of a mountain range.

The area is very extensive and is full of natural channels between the jungle that flow into Matanchén Bay in the Pacific Ocean. The vegetation is leafy and full of tropical plants among which the giant ferns and mangroves stand out, and a diverse fauna that includes crocodiles, turtles, jaguars, ocelots, armadillos, and a great variety of birds and fish.
